Let's just say, if Patrick Wolf is best friends with Zach Condon and eventually marries him, but halfway through their relationship, Thom Yorke enters the picture to sweep Patrick Wolf off his feet, then we get Get Well Soon. But wait, now comes Paul Banks...

Konstantin Gropper's music spans many genres: electronic, folk, classical, pop, etc. His favorite subjects include among others, witches, burning, cannibals, shooting, caskets, tombs, maggots and demons. How he made a song about witches truly heartwarming like a love song, is beyond me; but irony is the heart of Get Well Soon's music. It's beautiful and dark, at the same time.

That style is not at all alien. In the same vein that The Decemberists sing about murder so wonderfully, Get Well Soon's message is well concealed under the beautiful string, brass, etc. instrumentations.

"Rest Now, Weary Head, You Will Get Well Soon," is an engaging album with interesting lyrics and great melodies. To listen is to believe.
